Biographie: AARON MCCRORIE

AARON MCCRORIE

Aaron McCrorie a été nommé un des deux directeurs généraux de l’Aviation civile, Transports Canada (TC), en avril 2015, après avoir dirigé un nombre de programmes de réglementation en sûreté du transport terrestre, sécurité lors d’évènements d’envergure, et récemment, en sécurité aérienne. Aaron travaille à Transports Canada depuis 1999. 

 

Aujourd’hui, la portée du mandat d’Aaron comprend le cadre de la sécurité aérienne, notamment l’élaboration des politiques de sécurité, des règlements et des normes pour l’aviation et l’aérospatiale au Canada. Aaron assume également la responsabilité de l’élaboration des lignes directrices, des outils et des directives pour aider l’industrie à se conformer au règlement et les inspecteurs à surveiller la conformité à la réglementation. 

 

En tant que directeur général, Aaron tient à demander le point de vue des intervenants et à promouvoir la collaboration avec l’industrie afin d’apporter des solutions innovantes en réglementation. Au fil des ans, Aaron a également bâti des relations solides avec les autorités partout dans le monde, y compris la Federal Aviation Administration et la Transportation Security Administration aux États-Unis, l’Agence Européenne de Sécurité Aérienne ainsi que l’Administration de l’aviation civile de Chine. Il encourage vivement son équipe à engager des débats ouverts, honnêtes et respectueux. Son approche vise à surmonter les difficultés de communication existant obligatoirement au cœur de grands organismes tel que Transports Canada.

 

Aaron a suivi un parcours en sciences politiques; il est titulaire d’un Baccalauréat de l’université de Carleton et d’une Maîtrise de l’université de Regina et il a également entamé un doctorat à l’université de York. Aaron réside à Ottawa (Ontario), il est marié avec Carmen Abela et il est l’heureux père de trois enfants.

BIOGRAPHY: Andre Bouchard

Andre Bouchard has worked for more than 30 years in regulating the nuclear industry in Canada.  As part of his career, Andre occupied positions of inspector, site office coordinator, Regulatory Program Improvement Director and for the last 11 years he has been the director for the Human and Organizational Performance division which is tasked to provide the CNSC with specialist expertise in areas such as Human Factors, Human Performance, Fitness for Duty and Safety Culture.  Andre has a B.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Montreal.

 

BIOGRAPHY: Brenda Baxter

Brenda BaxterBrenda joined the Labour Program as Director General of the Workplace Directorate in August 2012, after three years at Health Canada as Director General of the Planning, Integration and Management Services Directorate and DG of Information Management.

 

In addition to her role as Director General, Workplace Directorate, Brenda has been appointed to the Public Service Task Force Working Group on Workplace Mental Health, led by Treasury Board Secretariat and the Public Service Alliance of Canada, and is the ESDC Co-Champion for Diversity.

 

Brenda holds a Masters of Architecture and a Bachelor of Environmental Design Studies, both from the Technical University of Nova Scotia (Dalhousie University) and has worked in the architectural field in Canada, the United States and England. Brenda is also a graduate of the School of Public Service Living Leadership Programme (2010).

 

 

BIOGRAPHY: Rebecca Gowan

Rebecca GowanSenior Policy Advisor, Human Rights Promotion Branch, Canadian Human Rights Commission

Rebecca Gowan currently works in the Human Rights Promotion Branch at the Canadian Human Rights Commission (CHRC). As a Senior Policy Advisor, she provides advice on disability and human rights, including substance dependence in the workplace. She has taught in the Trauma/Addiction Recovery Studies certificate program at Algonquin College in Ottawa and provided peer crisis intervention counseling with Women Against Violence Against Women (WAVAW) in Vancouver.

Rebecca has extensive experience on domestic and international human and labour rights issues. In addition to providing disability-related policy advice to federal employers, she leads the Canadian Association of Statutory Human Rights Agencies’ technical working group on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Prior to joining the CHRC in 2012, Rebecca worked with the federal Labour Program in international and Aboriginal labour affairs. Her experience includes participation in the negotiation of international labour standards within the International Labour Organization. Rebecca has also investigated social and workplace policy issues within the federal government, as well as within non-government organizations, such as the Canadian Council on Social Development.

Rebecca has a Master of Arts degree in Canadian Studies from Carleton University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Women’s Studies from the University of British Columbia. She currently resides in Ottawa.
